| Summary | 0001209: Needed APIs of A113X | ||||
| Description | Hi Wooshin, Below are some functions those may be implemented as i2c. Please help to provide these function. 1. FW version (done, i2cget 0 -y 0x20 1) 2. Bclk Ready (done, i2cget 0 -y 0x20 0) 3. A113x reboot (done, i2cset 0 -y 0x20 0 0x99 b) 4. Get the progress of OTA => While updating, we'd like to show progress (0~100) of A113X OTA on UI for user. 5. Get the state of A113X state: booting -> A113X is booting. () running -> A113X is running. updating -> A113X is updating. error_update -> Udpating fails and A113X is blocked in some error state. Details are described below. standby -> A113X is standby. And any other state you think it is necessary. ps. For the state error_update If the ota file is incorrect, maybe half size of the original ota file, A113X will stay in an error state after updating. In this state we cannot detect A113X device from VS550 through adbsub. It might be recovery mode and can be recovered by power cycling. | ||||

Hi Bcan, 1. Why do you need Flash and DDR size information ? And it is fixed value, not variable. 2. Upgrading will be doing in recovery mode and i didn’t check i2c slave mode is possible to use in recovery mode. Thanks. |
Hi Wooshin, 1. The APIs requirement includes OTA, Manufacturing, and Amp driver development. Flash and DDR size information is required while manufacturing SWAN in the factory. Please be sure to get this information from Amp OS but not return fixed values of Flash and DDR size. We need to detect defective products while Flash or DDR is not OK. |

Hi Wooshin, About the 2nd item you mentioned above. => 2. Upgrading will be doing in recovery mode and i didn’t check i2c slave mode is possible to use in recovery mode. If i2c is not supported in recovery mode, the affected functions are a. A113X reboot b. progress information of OTA c. A113X state: updating d. A113X state: error_update While updating A113X, we will show UI for users to know that something is updating. Without b/c, we can only provide UI that shows a fake progress estimated by time (about 1 min). Without d, if OTA fails (stay in recovery mode), we can only wait timeout (maybe 2 min) and then reboot A113X. Without a, we can't reboot A113X. We have nothing to do if this happens. The only way to recover it is to ask users to power cycle SWAN. Please confirm is it OK or not. |

Hi Bcan, Did you discuss with shawn of amlogic about Flash and DDR size information ? Please update about that. |
Hi Wooshin, DDR/Flash size information is not needed after discussing with Amlogic. |

Hi Wooshin, For 0429 Amp image and related i2c api, here are some recommendations and requirements. 1. It is better to seperate these 2 commands below for preventing confusion. Bclk Ready (i2cget 0 -y 0x20 0) check upgrade status (i2cget 0 -y 0x20 0) Is it OK to use register 2 for [check upgrade status]? This command will be "i2cget 0 -y 0x20 2". 2. Currently the states are: booting -> ??? running -> ??? updating -> 0x01~0x05, 0x09 error_update -> 0x09 standby -> ??? Will you provide booting/running/standby states with the same command as [check upgrade status]? 3. By sending [check upgrade status] repeatedly after sending [reboot]. We checked the result below. a. Update successfully 0x00 -> 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x04 -> 0x05 -> 0x01 -> 0x03 -> 0x09 b. Use an incorrect ota file and update fails 0x00 -> 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x04 -> 0x09 -> 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x04 -> 0x09 c. No ota file and update fails 0x00 -> 0x01 -> 0x03 -> 0x01 -> 0x03 -> 0x09 And what we expect is a. Update successfully 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x04 -> 0x05 b. Use an incorrect ota file and update fails 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x04 -> 0x09 c. No ota file and update fails 0x01 -> 0x03 -> 0x09 Please help to correct the state transition. |

Hi Bcan, Please check below links. http://altserver01.iptime.org/A113_images/0504/ |
Hi Wooshin, Here are some questions about 0504 image: 1. Do "Enter Standby Mode" and "Exit Standby Mode" use the same command? 2. Is "Standby Mode" available now? Nothing happened after sending "Enter Standby Mode". 3. The status during OTA are a. Update successfully 0x00 -> 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x04 -> 0x09 -> 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x04 -> 0x09 b. Use an incorrect ota file and update fails 0x00 -> 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x05 -> 0x09 -> 0x01 -> 0x02 -> 0x05 -> 0x09 c. No ota file and update fails 0x00 -> 0x01 -> 0x03 -> 0x09 -> 0x01 -> 0x03 -> 0x09 Is it possible to improve it by removing redundant states? |
1. I am sorry there is mis typing but standby mode is not supported in A113X. It is confirmed Shawn of AMLOGIC. 2. Not supported. 3. I don't know why there is redundant states but I can see it after reboot command. so we can ignore it. |

Hi Wooshin, For OTA App, it need to check fw version of A113X and software.swu. If the version of software.swu is greater than A113X, OTA App will update A113X with software.swu. How do I know the version of software.swu? |
I2C command list 1.FW Version => i2cget 0 -y 0x20 1 2.BLCK => i2cget 0 -y 0x20 0 3.Reboot =>i2cset 0 -y 0x20 0 0x99 b 4.USB Mass Storage Enable => i2cset 0 -y 0x20 0 0x88 b 5.Reboot for OTA => i2cset 0 -y 0x20 0 0x77 b 6.Enter Standby Mode (Not work now) => i2cset 0 -y 0x20 0 0x66 b 7.Exit Standby Mode (Not work now) => i2cset 0 -y 0x20 0 0x66 b 8.check A113X status => i2cget 0 -y 0x20 2 0x0 : In boot process 0x1 : Recovery mode start 0x2 : Updated started 0x3 : Not founded upgrade image 0x4 : Updated OK 0x5 : Updated FAIL 0x6 : In standby mode ( not supported ) 0x7 : Working ( Normal Mode ) 0x9 : Exit recovery mode |
